Matthew Paget - Head Professional
Matthew turned professional in 1991 as an Assistant Professional at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Deal and became PGA Qualified in March 1995. In October 1995, aged 22 he became Head Professional at Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club (one the youngest in PGA history). During his 8 years at Walmer he became Captain and Committee member of the Kent PGA , and held a seat on the Board of the South Region PGA.
Matthew left Walmer at the end of 2003 to join Croham Hurst in South Croydon. He spent three years there with the last two years as General Manager/Head Professional. In this time Matthew launched a Ladies Academy which recruited 16 new lady members in its first year and started a Junior Golf Scheme that boosted the Junior Section from 20 to 120.
In 2006 he moved to Royal Mid-Surrey and completely refurbished the Pro-Shop which won the 'Pro-Shop Europe' Best Pro-Shop award 2012. Matthew has taught all types of golfers from LPGA Major Winners, European Tour Golfers, County Champions, Surrey Ladies/Girls/Junior squads and golfers of all standards.

We are spoilt with teaching facilities at Royal Mid-Surrey. We have a Huxley surfaced practice ground, a dedicated short game area with bunkers, a large chipping green, a putting green, an indoor Performance Studio and not forgetting two golf courses.
Teaching is forever evolving and we adapt with time. The majority of our pupils find video playback an effective way of learning and hence all of our PGA Professionals have the capability to film and assess golf swings in slow motion and to email these videos to build a portfolio of swings over time.
