Following the Member Information Meeting on 31st May, attended by about 150 members, the General Management Committee are pleased to present the Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club 2023 Strategic Plan, concluding the strategic planning exercise commenced in Autumn 2022.
The Plan provides a comprehensive analysis of the current position of the Club as well as a set of recommendations to address current issues and to provide a road-map for a successful and sustainable future. The Plan puts golf first, responding to the clear message from the Member Survey carried out in December 2022. It also prescribes investment in our Clubhouse and Infrastructure as well as an uplift in our service standards across the board. In addition, the Plan proposes significant changes in the way the Club is managed and governed, with a focus on clearer accountability, professionalism, greater emphasis on management information and stronger communication.
The Plan comprises two phases; years 1-2 focused on operational improvements and governance changes, with capital investment from existing funds; years 3-5 with significant capital investment across the Club dependent on new sources of funding.
Alternatively, please follow this link to view a summary of the Plan in the form of the presentation shared with members at the Member Information Meeting on 31st May.
We now have a fixed point of reference as we move into the execution phase with a clear sense of direction and priorities. The Plan is a living document and will continue to evolve. It will be reviewed annually and an update provided to members at each AGM.
Our thanks to all the Members and employees who have contributed to the development of the Plan, and especially to the Strategy Working Group who have driven the process.
We hope that Members will join us in welcoming the Plan and moving forward together to deliver the Club that we all wish RMS to be.
